We know a lot of stories about Kobe Bryant and his stiff competition, but of course we haven’t discovered everything about the legend of LA yet. Laker’s legend. Sue Byrd of the WNBA Seattle Storm team told the story of the deceased veteran and what he did in 2008 when he represented the American team at the Olympics.
According to Byrd, Kobe, who was one of the leaders of the so-called Redemption Team, saw a picture of Paul Pierce partying. Pierce won this year’s NBA championship in Boston with Kevin Garnet and Ray Allen and defeated the Lakers in the final. That was the only motivation Kobe needed and he decided to take this picnic as a souvenir.

He didn’t say a word, Vogel said on a live Instagram broadcast. He didn’t say anything. But we saw him take the newspaper, he started to cut out a picture of Paul Pierce and put it in his pocket. And he was somehow motivated.
And we are: Ohhhhh. It never ends with him. You can just say it.
It was Bird’s first meeting with Bryant, and she was impressed with KB24. Kobe could go to work, and his motivation was more visible than ever. In 2009, he returned to the finals, where he defeated Dwight Howard under Orlando Magic in 5 games, and the following year he took his revenge on Pierce and the Celtics in one of the most dramatic finals of recent times.
Kobe’s on 26. He died in a plane crash on 1 January last year, and since then we have seen people paying tribute to him by commemorating his greatness and the impact he had on the game, and on the lives of those who saw him play or even motivate him to take on new challenges.
